Hectic Headaches

Hectic headaches

Hectic schedules in our everyday lives are the main cause of headaches. The stress of the ‘go, go, go’ mentality brings upon tension in the body specifically in the neck, shoulders, and upper back. According to Ravenstarshealingroom Blog, “90 percent of headaches are tension headaches which come from muscle tension and contraction.”

If you are struggling with frequent headaches, one of these influences might be the culprit.

  • Ventilation – breathing too much or too little
  • Fatigue – not enough sleep
  • Dehydration – not drinking enough water
  • Prescriptions – side-effects
  • Coffee – stimulant
  • Smoking/Second-hand smoke
  • Diet – allergies to food, hypoglycemic (low blood sugar)
  • Constipation
  • Allergies – external environmental pollutants
  • Posture – hunching over a computer
  • Tension – overwork, worrying, anxiety, stress
  • Emotional – depression
  • Medical diagnosis – Neurovascular

As stated above, the physical body can be affected by external stimuli which can generate headaches. Now let’s move to the internal stimuli or the energetic bodies that play a role in headaches.

We not only have a physical body but energetic bodies that are beyond the physical that go inward. Think of a Russian doll that has many shells to get to the final inner doll. We, as human beings have the same ‘shells’ – the ‘physical body’ being the last outwardly shell and the ‘soul body’ being the most inner shell. In yoga, we call these bodies koshas. In Sanskrit, kosha means sheath or covering.

If we look at illnesses from a metaphysical ‘yogic’ point of view, the illness begins with our inner ‘soul body’ and move outwardly to the ‘physical body’. Headaches form physical pain in the head. This area of the head is where our ‘intuition sits’ or as one might call it our ‘inner voice’ or one’s ‘soul body’.  Headaches are a spiritual manifestation of not listening to our ‘inner voice’ and in doing so this causes confusion. One’s inner order is out of order spiritually that manifests itself physically. This leads to nervousness, next tension, and finally manifests itself as a headache physically.

One needs to ask themselves what is causing my headaches and really listen to the answers that come from within, your ‘inner voice’. The questions that one might ask are the following:

“Am I fulfilling plans I have made?”

“Am I overloaded with responsibilities and an inability to integrate it in my life”

“Am I fearful or resistant to change or fulfilling that plan?

“Do I have demands on me that I cannot live up to?

“Do I feel incompetent to finish the task at hand?

“Do I not feel loved unconditionally?

“Am I expressing myself too much or not enough?”

Headaches manifests inwardly from the soul body (inner voice) to the physical body by not listening and avoiding one’s ‘gut’ intuition. In other words, there is a disconnection between the head and the heart.

This in turn might look like this in one’s life with headaches stated by THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF YOUR BODY: The Essential Guide to Health and Wellness ~ Inna Segal

“Control, pressure, seriousness, perfectionism. Over-committing yourself. Great need for love and approval. Ignoring your own needs. Putting other people before yourself. Extreme worry, guilt and anxiety. Conflict with self and other people. Self-punishment. Feeling angry and annoyed with others. Saying, ‘You are giving me a headache.’”

Once one begins to follow their ‘inner voice’ linked to one’s intuition – changing one’s inwardly ‘soul’ shell – the outwardly ‘physical’ shell will follow; hence, the headaches will soon disappear over time.

Let’s look what we can do right NOW to have relief from headaches.

First, the easiest and the one thing we take for granted is our breath. Slowing down our breath creates space in the body and the mind. As we slow the breath, we stimulate our parasympathetic nervous system, also known as “rest-and-digest” or as I like to call it, “the calming system”. The PNS slows heart rate which results lowering blood pressure via the vagus nerve; hence, lowers tension in body – e.g., the head, neck, upper back.

Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Place your hand on your belly. As you inhale, allow the belly to fill like a balloon with a count of 1-2-3. On your exhale, allow the belly to deflate on a count of 1-2-3. Do this 5 times or more, and you will feel an instant relief in the body and relaxation. To add to the breath, you can add a healing word, on the inhale in your mind hear ‘release’ and on the exhale hear ‘pain’ – ‘release pain’ would be repeated with the inhale and exhale. You may choose any 2 words you prefer.

Next, we will focus on 3 trigger points on the trapezius and suboccipital muscles, the bridge posture in yoga, and the 3 acupoints (Traditional Chinese Medicine) specifically to give relief for headaches shown in Diagram 1 thru 4.

You will need a tennis ball or racquet ball or something similar.

TPpoint

Diagram 1 – the X’s represent the trigger points you will place the tennis ball. If you are able to lay down on floor and get back up safely, this will provide more pressure to relieve pain. If you are not able to lay on floor, then stand against a wall and place tennis ball on the trigger points.
suboccipital tp

Diagram 2 – the 2 upper X’s are the suboccipital muscle trigger points. Place tennis ball here as well. These triggers points will be tender if you are holding tension in the upper neck area.

bridge posture
Diagram 3 – The yoga bridge posture against the wall. This posture presses on all trigger points by releasing the neck, shoulder, and upper back muscles. This posture is only for those who can physically lay on floor and safely get up without help. You can roll a small towel and place at the nape of your neck for comfort, as well as, roll a thick towel/rectangle cushion and place under the hip/lower back area for comfort. For added relief of muscle tension, you may add the tennis ball at the trigger points in Diagram 1 and 2.
acupoints for headaches
Diagram 4 – These are the 3 acupoints that you need to apply pressure to help relieve headaches. Please do not worry about the identification of the points. That would be a whole other article just on meridian lines alone.

And let’s not forget essential oils – lavender, peppermint, and rosemary are wonderful to use as aromatherapy and or applying directly to the body with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil and/or coconut oil.

I hope you find this article helpful if you suffer from headaches.

I will leave you with one final quote to ponder.

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits become your values, Your values become your destiny.”

Life’s Journey with the Soul

Life is full of twists, turns, dreams, and wonders. The question which arises is which twist, turn, dream, and wonder shall you choose.

Beginning very young in life the Soul, your life’s purpose, your inner voice leads you and you followed unknowingly because you and your Soul were bonded; you were one. Why? The mind has yet to mature at a young age; it is very weak to the Soul. The Soul has only a minimum of the first six years of your life to connect with your mind. Really to be dominate over the mind as long as it can because the Soul knowingly understands the mind will mature to be stronger than the Soul due to other forces at hand, “Big Brother.”

And so be it, by the time you are in your mid-teens graduating high school, your mind rules. You have been programmed by “Big Brother” and others in your life to live by their dogma, their rules, what twist, turn, dream, wonder you should to take….because this is how you should live your life.

As time goes on, you are now a robot being controlled by this invisible remote doing exactly what you should be doing by “their” rules. Even though your Soul, your tiny voice, your inner life’s purpose is still crying to get your attention that you gave it when you were younger.

Finally when you hit “rock bottom” at this moment you feel a connection that you have been yearning for that feels so familiar but so distant. At this point you realize you have been living someone else’s dream controlled by the rules, others’ dogma, “Big Brother.” You wake up, you wake up from the controlled mind. Your Soul jumps as fast as She can to answer you. She is still there for you to guide you to your dreams, your wonders, your turns….

The controlled mind becomes erratic wondering why are you not listening to it anymore. It doesn’t want you to follow your Soul to live your dreams, your wonders. Your mind wants you to follow the invisble remote that controls every move you make….to follow the rules. Remember the mind thinks of you as a robot, not a person, not a Soul.

Once you reconnect with your Soul things become difficult at first. Everything needs to be readjusted to ground zero, rebooted. As this reboot finishes your life becomes as ease…the Soul is guiding your life now. Your mind has given up and is now following the Soul’s direction. You have balance. You feel free like a bird flying high, soaring to Neverland.

Now you’re awake connected to your Soul your life changes directions. Things began to flow, awareness takes place, meditation suddenly appears in your life, creativity flourishes within you, synchronicity begins to happen. You see things not with your eyes, but with your Divine eyes. You asked yourself why did it take this long for me to listen to the inner voice that had been whispering endlessly to me. You say to yourself, “my life is beautiful….”

Compassion flows through your veins…tears form of sadness, joy instantly appears, stillness resonates. The all-knowing within finds it’s way to yourself. And your life has finally begun.

 “One of a Kind Soul”

Hasan Askari

By: Candice Rowland

“We have first to wake up from the spell which our collective identity, whether it be of race or of religion has cast upon us, and see the sun of awareness rising in the horizon of our souls, in whose light the hidden grace in each one of us would become visible to the other. As we bow to each other as soul beings, we bow before God who is both in us and above us. What can then prevent us from saying to each other that my soul and your soul is one soul, that our God and your God is one God? We shall then abolish fear, and then our greeting of peace will be a perfect greeting!” Hasan Askari http://www.interreligiousinsight.org/January2004/Jan04Askari.html

Reading Hasan’s words above gives me goose bumps within my own soul every time I read them; how divine his words resonate with souls on a spiritual journey such as mine as yours. His connection with the religious diversity is far beyond wisdom; it was part of his true being to bring all faiths to an interfaith dialogue to speak, to converse with one another of one another’s religious beliefs; to bring understanding within one’s soul to another soul.  As Hasan states, “Our coming together in dialogue becomes akin to an act of worship; our exclusive witness is transformed into co-witness; our one-way mission is replaced by mutual mission.”

The one thing Hasan believed man had forgotten which has brought much suffering in the world, forgetting the Supreme (God), and the soul. “The loss of a sense of transcendence from our consciousness, and the accompanying loss of the gnosis of soul, have led first to the degeneration of religion and eventually to the despiritualisation of politics and science.” H.A.

Hassan was a man with a mission to somehow, someway to spark awareness in mankind to transcend him back to God and to “our nobler and loftier companion, our Soul.” H.A. Hasan directly points out,” First soul, then God! The soul possesses the vision of the Supreme One.” He proceeds to say further in his article, “First one must “Know thyself” (written on Gate of Entrance to the ancient Temple of Delphi) and “Whoever knows his self knows his Lord” (said by the prophet of Islam).

As Hassan expresses adamantly, “Soul is one and many, a universal being. It is in souls of each other that we encounter each other both individually and universally. We surpass the boundaries of our outer identity.”  In other words, we must as spiritual beings find within ourselves, our soul then only then can we move to find God. And when we unite with the soul we find God; then can we see our soul reflected in other souls with different religious backgrounds, race and culture because the soul is universal as so is our God, all is one; we are one.

One quote always remained in my memory from Hasan and this is why I chose this article in particular to try to bring clarity to myself and others on a spiritual journey. It is this, “A real evangelist would be one who brings the good news of universal truths as these are glimpsed through various religious symbols and philosophies.” This rang with vibration within my soul when I read this because if We all could speak of universal truth and not just what we collectively identify with in our culture, this would bring a sort of peace to mankind. Why? As Hasan says: “Our perspectives will expand: we shall not only notice religious diversity as a spatial fact but also value the coming and going through time of teachers and prophets, religions followed by religions – all calling upon us to wake up and humbly bow in self-knowledge before the almighty source of our souls. Then our conversion will be not to this or that religion but to one God (speaking theistically), All Transcendent-All near, All Freedom-Ever New!” How beautiful Hasan wrote this; brings tears to my eyes.

Not only did Hasan write scholarly, spiritual inclined papers with answers to beyond difficult questions one must answer to bring peace to Earth and unity of mankind, but he wrote poetic articles. As such, the “Seven Mirrors.” http://spiritualhuman.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/seven-mirrors-by-hasan-askari/

Reflecting his vision during silence of one candle; reflecting in seven mirrors reflecting seven candles. He then through thought realized, “If the original candle stands for the eternal presence of the Light of God, all its reflections too were eternally present before it. For God there is neither before nor after, neither past not future, but one eternal present, not like our present but a time that includes without division all times.”

And lastly, Hasan’s heartfelt story, “The Rebirth Through My Son.” http://spiritualhuman.wordpress.com/2011/04/25/rebirth-through-my-son-by-hasan-askari/

This is about a father’s journey through his life while in search of meaning knowing the pain and misery he caused to himself and his family.

But his youngest son never gave up on his father. He visited his father because of a bond he could not help from feeling to his father and the longing to want to know more of him. Finally one day the son asked him a question that stirred him within. It was that evening that all of a sudden he felt that he was renewed deep from within. His son’s remark had demolished his shyness before his son. He felt that they were now brothers.”H.A.

And so how Hasan ends the story with a story to his son, “Once a visitor called and said to his father, “I have come to see your son. May I know where he is?” His father replied: “Do not call him my son. I am his son!” How this says it all between Hasan and his son, Musa.

Now this brings me to the end, to Hasan’s son Musa. If was not for Musa I would not have had the beautiful experience of reading Hasan’s work. And because of Hasan’s works it has brought me to a new but reviving view of my spiritual journey.

Hasan, I can only say you are a precious soul for other souls to follow in your footsteps but that would not be right, as you would say, “This is not a journey for the feet; the feet bring us only from land to land; nor need you think of coach or ship to carry you away; all this order of things you must set aside and refuse to see: you must close the eyes and call instead upon another vision which is to be waked within you, a vision, the birthright of all, which few turn to see. (PLOTINUS – The Enneads, 1.6 “On Beauty”)

On this day February 19th, a very special day, I can only say Hasan would be so very proud of his son, Musa. To keep his work alive through his continuing relentless effort or shall I had said “effortless” for Musa. I thank you Hasan for your work; and your loyal son and your best friend, Musa. God Bless both of your souls.

I have only mentioned a couple of Hasan’s articles that resonated with me, but how all of his articles and works are a tremendous awakening for all to read. I encourage you to read them all.

Namaste, Shalom, Salam, Peace,

Candice Rowland

Dualism vs. Non-Dualism

Here I began once again regarding something that has been nagging on my mind recently everday on my spiritual journey to be awakened to enlightenment, the question of duality? Dualism.

The defining term of dualism “denotes a state of two parts.”

My thoughts, ideas, or beliefs on the matter will follow my logical reasoning with some emphasis on certain faiths views on duality.

Let me begin with ancient Egypt, the pharoah Osiris wore ostrich plumes on each side of his crown representing dualism. Dualistic Gods, Osiris (life, order) and Seth (death, disorder).

Christian and Islamic faiths, believe in God (good); Satan (evil); Heaven and Hell; etc.

Interesting enough I just commented on Paulo Coelho’s blog; and revealed the answer I have been waiting:

Hi Paulo,

The first thing that came to my mind was dualism…yin-yang; death-life; give-take; good-evil; female-male; devil-god etc. Im currently researching and writing on the understanding of such, dualism vs. non-dualism…

As such if you were to completely spiritually enlightened one must confirm non-dualistic nature, all in one no parts exists; no opposites; everything is one.

I have been racking my brain on this thru my writing in my first novel, and beginning the second; I believe as you said you must allow energy to flow; you must give and receive; opposites, (dualistic nature). If we did not have opposite forces how would this world balance.

This is very trying for me…to understand non-dualistic nature; the only resolution in my mind; with dualistic nature is to become one with all, no opposites; non-dualism; I can only imagine and understand such that all is within the precious “circle” that represent all..continuing, never-beginning; never-ending; providing the two separates into one; as you said ever flowing energy that should be free to flow.

I believe I just answered my understanding;  the never ending circle but with dualistic nature; halving it within; forming the balance of energies; but the flow remains free on the outside; the circumference. Hence now I see; the yin-yang, the Tao and of course the totality of the infinity sign.

Im laughing all bc of your vampire symbolic give and take; I answered my dualism vs non-dualism answer.

I owe you much gratitude.

Sincerely, Candice

Chinese Bamboo

http://seg.sharethis.com/getSegment.php?purl=http%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.com%2F&jsref=&rnd=1328325568228

Chinese Bamboo what a mystery in itself with such magical wonders; how so do I view the reward of faith, patience, and love. I as the Chinese Bamboo have been watered and fertilized by my faith and nothing else. My watering and food might not be equivalent of five years but of thirty years to be grounded by my roots to connect to my soul for it to set flight.

And now, only now can I feel the “spiritual sprouts” forming ready to explode outward from my heart to touch the world with kindness and compassion through my words I have written. But yet has it sprouted, but so how I feel in in my heart, my roots becoming strong, to ground me for when my “spiritual sprouts” shoot my soul will be ready to fly.

I remind myself everyday of my life to be patient, only the universe rewards the most patient of people. So I like the Chinese Bamboo must remain in the ground not yet to be seen; and relying on my faith to nuture me everday ’til the day arrives I so patiently wait for. And I know deep in my heart when that day comes, my “spiritual sprouts” will shoot so high, so vibrant the world will shine, humbly I pray.

When this day arrives my soul and heart will set flight for a journey only my faith could see. And then could I finally say, I once was blind, but now can see.

I like the Chinese Bamboo wait patiently for this day to come.

I leave you with one of my favorite quotes: “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” Saint Augustine

And so how this quote describes the Chinese Bamboo and me.

Inshallah, God willing, Candice Rowland

Love

Today I will begin with the one and only salvation in life, LOVE. This has been nagging on my mind for the last couple of weeks. The more I search and research for the spiritual path of oneness with God, in all of faiths, the one thing that is a common denominator is LOVE and God. The question that rises in my mind the most: LOVE is the easiest form of life’s essense, it is our true nature and being; but why is it the hardest to find and the hardest to give?

It is a mystery to me and I believe to the world. I truly believe this is why the whole world is in turmoil…everyone is trying to find a sense of love somewhere, somehow looking to God, lovers, nature, anything that makes them feel whole. My only conclusion: souls are in oblivion because of this miraculous essense of being which is LOVE. Until we as spiritual beings find LOVE within ourselves only, we will never be able to LOVE one another. Most importantly when one’s soul has found LOVE within oneself, one has found God. When one has found GOD with LOVE peace and tranquility assumes their being. When peace and tranquility begins with one soul, this will transpire to another soul, and another and so on. Once this begins, loving yourself, finding God, within the universe extrordinary measures will take place….the Earth will calm and more important holy wars will cease. Finally people awaken to see that LOVE within oneselves equals oneness with God. LOVE is universal and God is universal. We are all the same no matter what faith we believe, we are universal.

Gravitation

Hello,

Gravitation is where I will begin today. Over the last few months, I have been itching to finish my book but of course so many little things come in the way to distract me. What I have found is that when your mind is clear, focused, and with oneness, God…gravitation pulls you to the very same minds as yours. Amazing I have found this through Twitter, yes twitter. I began my twitter account first to follow a person/band I was interested in but had no idea what the songs would be about…and of course gravitation pulled me in that direction because the lyrics are so much of what I believe. I was stunned. After following, gravitation pulled me to began daily quotes to inspire, bring people happiness and most of all to HELP others; not just to follow people on twitter. Again, amazing I began to follow people and people began to follow me because of like minds, gravitation.  A quote I love that describes gravitation perfectly is by Rumi,”What you seek is seeking you.” I can only say soooo true. I hope and pray when my book is finished that it will gravitate people to read it like it gravitates me. The conclusion of gravitation: Anything is possible if you are pure and true in mind, heart, body, and soul. The gravitation of your wants will pull you and others alike together. I promise.

Candice

The Beginning

This is my first post and hopefully not my last.  Why I am here you ask? To write a novel, yes a fictional novel about the end of the world, a romance (love triangle), and the creation of the Anti-Christ and the birth of the Savior, but I will take you to very real places, real verses, and a real imagination. And of course, the angels, Archangels, Fallen angels, and the Chosen angels will be an intricate part throughout the story.

Yes, I am over halfway done. But it has been grabbing every inch of me to get it out to you, through a blog….now the question is where do I began to tell you of a story I am so passionate about. My goal is for you to madly in love with reading it and keeping you on the edge of you toes…as if trying to put a pieces of a puzzle together. Is this the right way….well I will have to say…I dont believe there is ever a right way  to do anything…you just have to do it.

Yes the title is Fruition 2012. The profile photo is the true man-sized cross sitting on one of the 6 gates to Hell, a volcano that I use in my story. But you must come back to this blog to see exactly why I use it for my story. I guess the question is are you ready to dig deep and enjoy reading and wanting more. I hope you are because it thrills me to put it out….btw this will be the only story you will find like mine…..I promise you!

If I have your interest please comment.
